Synopsis: The head of the World Canadian Bureau leads the country into a long and painful strike and the responsibility of brokering a settlement rests with the boys. Meanwhile, people from Denmark flock to the U.S. and cross the picket lines to take the place of the striking Canadians. In conflict over whether or not to stand with their countrymen, Terrance and Phillip uncover the truth behind the outrageous cost of the strike.

First, let me start off by saying this is the first review I’ve done on my blog (mainly because I’ve only had it up for less than a week). Now that that’s out of the way, I have to say, tonight’s episode of South Park was probably the best one this season so far. After 2 lackluster episodes with the season premiere and followup episode, the last 2 have been great. Tonight’s episode was mainly about the writer’s strike that took place during the end of 2007 and first part of 2008, only instead of the strike being about the writers, it was about, of all people, Canada.

The Canadians thougt that they were not being appreciated and decided that they wanted more money. What money you ask? Why money being made from the internet of course! Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Butters (no Kenny in tonight’s episode), got tired of seeing a Terrance & Phillip episode (apparently like 70 times in a row) due to Canada’s strike, so they decided to do something about it. They make a video with Butters (the first youtube spoof, using the “What What (In My Butt)” video, and put it on youtube which started getting massive views. After getting so many views, they go to this office to collect their “money” only to find out that they have to wait in line. A line that’s filled with several very popular Youtube video stars waiting to collect their “theorectical money” from their videos. One of the reasons tonight’s episode was so good was that it completely made fun of the writers strike (which I will leave my opinion out of) and also made fun of several “youtube sensations” if you want to call them that. There were quite a few Youtube artists that were featured in tonight’s episode. I’ve listed links to youtube of all the videos in case anyone wants to see them. I posted a warning above the first video, because what I said in that warning is true lol.

Overall I’d say I was very pleased with tonight’s episode, because it seemed to be going back to the new style roots of the show, taking cues from last season’s episodes as well. While not 100% perfect, it was a great episode. I was kind of put off by that last speech Kyle said at the end of the episode. For those that haven’t seen it, check out the episode over at South Park Studios when they release it. It definitely shouldn’t be missed if you’re a South Park fan. I’m happy to say that it looks like the new season of South Park is finally picking up. I can’t wait to see next week’s episode. My rating for tonight’s episode is listed below.
Warning: This may very well be the gayest thing I have ever seen in my life):
